Effie Kritikaki is a Research Associate in the Haniffa Lab at Newcastle University. She contributes to various ongoing projects at the Newcastle site, focusing on wet lab experiments, including tissue processing and single-cell multiomic assays. Her post-doctoral research will focus on investigating the developmental trajectory of CD1a T cells.
Effie received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and then obtained an MSc in Clinical Exercise Physiology at Northumbria University. She continued studying at Northumbria University where she completed her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences. Her doctoral research focused on the role of extracellular matrix proteins in muscle adaptation in patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). In her spare time, Effie enjoys traveling, playing tennis, photography, and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.
