Jacqueline Marcia BoccacinoPhD Student

Jacqueline is a Ph.D. student at the Wellcome Sanger Institute and the University of Cambridge, supervised by Dr. David Adams and Professor Muzlifah Haniffa. She is interested in the intersection of computer programming and molecular biology, with a passion for bioinformatics, cancer genomics, and single-cell genomics. Jacqueline earned a B.Sc. degree in Molecular Sciences from the University of São Paulo, where she worked as a research student under the supervision of Dr. Marilene Lopes for more than two years. During her undergraduate studies, she was awarded the Sanger Prize by the Wellcome Sanger Institute, which allowed her to join Dr. Sarah Teichmann’s team as a visiting researcher for three months. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree, Jacqueline worked as a bioinformatician in Dr. David Adams’ group for a year before pursuing her doctoral degree.
